scavengers. These products act as H2S
scavengers for crude oil, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and
SAGD. Typical treatments
occur at the wellsite, on production platforms, in ships, pipelines, and refineries.
Momentive Performance Materials offers silicone products that act as
foam control agents and demulsifiers. These
silicone-based products offer significant performance benefits in the
production, transportation, and refining of oil and gas. They help overcome tough issues in the separation of
water from crude oil. Momentive’s silicones efficiently break
water-in-oil emulsions and control foam in oil-based systems. A recent case history highlights the
successful implementation of silicones in the Middle East.

associated with siliceous rocks. In particular, it is used for fines
encountered in crude oil production or generated as a result of hydraulic
fracturing or sandstone acidizing. Treatment
can result in a significant increase in the productivity and stabilization of

additive is designed specifically for advanced
high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) fluid loss control, clay particle
inhibition, and borehole stabilization. It is formulated for superior
performance in highly contaminated mud systems at elevated temperatures up to
and above 204°C (400°F).
There are many different types of fracturing
chemicals you may see on a frac location. These include gelling agents,
buffers, biocides, crosslinkers, breakers, surfactants, and friction reducers.
All of these fracturing chemicals have different properties and functions.
